Pigeon flyers throughout the country learned of the passing of long time pigeon fancier Robert C. “Bob” Rapozo on November 15, 2011.  At the time of his death, Bob’s flying  lofts contained his old bird and young bird teams.  The breeder loft contained a select group of outstanding breeders and others being considered for the 2012 breeding and flying teams. 

Bob raised, raced, showed and graded pigeons for sixty years!   Bob had graded and judged tens of thousands of pigeons over his “career” as one of California’s most well known and well respected pigeon men.  In addition to racing and showing pigeons, Bob was a California State Racing Pigeon Organization (CSRPO) judge and a fancier many others called upon to select their breeding team each year.  This skill in the selection of breeders and his close friendship with Brad LaVerne paid dividends over the years in his ability to select the finest breeders he could get his hands on.  To pigeon flyers, these birds became known as the Rapozo family of birds.  This fantastic group of pigeons will be available on Auction Day.

The Rapozo family of birds included Tourniers (especially those from Alfred Piaget), Elio Lumachi Janssens down from Perfection and King-O, Janssens from Frank Kwoka, De Klak Janssens from Hapyco, birds from the Cinderella line of Nick Corini, and impact birds from the  Maurice Casaert line of Frank McLaughlin.  Bob only selected birds with “the proper body structure” to bring into his Rapozo family of fine pigeons.

• go West to Franklin Blvd,
• go South to 23rd Ave,
• turn east onto 23rd Ave,
• Clubhouse is 100 yards on the north side of 23rd Ave.
